Indeed, Within a short walk of my home there are three old phone boxes converted into book shares - Am Platz, Lainzer Platz and near Wollfram Platz

A very simple example that has existed in Vienna was a plastic bag with books in hanging on the fence of a childrens playground, having  a plastic flap over the top to stop any rain water getting in.

Jumble sales or lfea markets here have extensive selections of kids books for sale and resale, as well as charity shops. In the UK many high streets have multiple charity shops selling books as well as toys and clothes to raise money for their cause.

Many cafes, bars and even cinemas and swimming pools in Vienna offer a bookshelf to exchange books.
